Customers Bank lends support to Safe Haven Project by securing a grant worth $650,000

Customers Bank recently announced the news they have secured a 650,000 Affordable Housing Program (AHP) grant for Safe Haven sponsored by Hope Rescue Mission, an affordable housing development in Reading. This grant has been sanctioned from the Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLBank) of Pittsburgh.

By supporting Hope Rescue Mission, Safe Haven Project will be providing 117 affordable housing units and shelters to low income residents.

Under this humanitarian project the first three floors of a building currently housing the Hope Rescue Mission located on North 6th Street in Reading, Pa will be rebuilt. Besides the economic aid, spiritual and emotional support will also be provided so that residents can lead their life in a right direction.

Providing food, clothing, and shelter to almost 70 men on the daily basis, Safe Haven Project has showcased exemplary work. The project also provides social services and programs to low-income residents.
