Some women have a knack of inspiring people and building their companies into influential organisations. Luvleen Sidhu, co-founder and Chief Strategy & Marketing Officer, BankMobile, is one of them.
In a year, her leadership took BankMobile, America’s first absolutely no-fee, mobile, tablet and online bank to 100,000 customers and the next target of 2 million is just around the corner. This is the reason she has been honoured with the Lehigh Valley Business Women of Influence – Woman to Watch award.
Lehigh Valley Business chooses the winners by identifying the women business leaders who contribute most to their trade. Cedar Crest College will host this year’s winners for a luncheon and ceremony.
“Luvleen’s dedication to helping millennials and the under-banked live financially stable lives is unwavering. She has had monumental accomplishments since she co-founded BankMobile last year including reaching over 100,000 customers and launching the BankMobilist College Brand Ambassador Program,” stated Jay Sidhu, Chief Executive Officer of BankMobile and Customers Bank while reiterating Luvleen’s contribution in BankMobile’s rapid rise. “We congratulate her on this recognition as she continues her mission of financial empowerment.”
The BankMobile app is full of exciting features that simplify banking for millennials. Through the surcharge-free model they can save $70 million a year. BankMobile also became one of the first banks to be launched on Apple Watch. During Sidhu’s tenure, the bank also rolled out its foundation’s first Financial Literacy Scholarship, launched its VIP experience, began the BankMobilist College Brand Ambassador Program and set up BankMobile Technologies.
The residents of Lehigh Valley, especially the entrepreneurs, corporate boards, middle managers and CEOs, consider Leigh Valley Business as the primary source for all the latest business updates as well as critical tips from the top guns.
Other winners of the award have been: Sandra Figueroa of Lincoln Leadership Academy Charter School; Martha Cichelli of Software Consulting Services, LLC; Sheila Evans and Allentown Symphony Association; and Debbie Salas-Lopez and Lehigh Valley Health Network.
Luvleen Sidhu was also recently chosen as one of New York Business Journal’s Women of Influence Award honourees.
Customers Bank is a subsidiary of Customers Bancorp, Inc., a bank holding company in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania and has an illustrious board of directors that includes the founder of London-based C&C Alpha Group, Bhanu Choudhrie.
